Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

"Great Movie, Fun Game!"
I know alot of people are wanting to bury this game since it is based off of the movie. The movie was absolutely great bar none. But, if you really enjoyed the movie, then the game is enjoyable as well. The game follows the movie very closely step by step.
The game is definitely for children. There is no violence or language or any of the little lude references that were made in the movie. This game actually starts out really easy for anyone. As you go through the adventure mode, you complete various levels and pick up candy treats along the way. When you collect all 25 treats in that level, you unlock the Oompa Loompa photo album pictures one by one. You also have to find the various letters in the level that spell out W O N K A. Collecting all of these will unlock mini games.
The Oompa Loompa album is just an added extra to the game for fun sake and to gain respect from your friends for collecting all the candy in the levels. The adventure mode is actually a little different. It starts out very easy to play. But, it gradually gets to the point where the player is spending more time finding ways to get through the level by using the Oompa Loompas to their advantage. Basically, the player will start out with easy puzzles and routes to get through the levels and then later on in the game, the levels and puzzles get more time consuming to get through and figure out. Even a child would have a time trying to figure out some of these levels. Probably the worst part of the game is the mini games you unlock with the W O N K A letters. The games are not bad, but they have no focal point to them. You basically do the same action over and over again until you get defeated. You can climb levels and you and a friend can dish it out to see who can get to the highest level on that mini game. Other than that, not too much to the mini games.
Overall, the game is great for kids to play and I even enjoy playing with my son since it is something he can play and not be exposed to all the violence and other elements that come with alot of games. So, go out and get a copy if you really loved the movie. You never know, it might make you feel like a kid again.
