The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius vs. Jimmy Negatron
Review by SonicFan4786
"Jimmy's first game was a blast, but what about his second?"
Introduction
Jimmy Neutron is Nickelodeon's 10-year-old boy genius, who has a Movie and TV show. By now Jimmy's been just about everywhere, on toys, books, shirts, and maybe our own game system. This is Jimmy's second outing on GBA, let's see how good or bad it is.
Gameplay
Gameplay is OK, but it is different than other GBA games out there. To start things off it's in full third-person view 3-D. The 3-D gameplay is very, very, interesting and takes time getting use to. The control is a bit difficult at first, but after an hour you get used to it. Before each level, inside each hub, you can choose between Jimmy or his cybernetic canine, Goddard. Each character has strengths and weak points. For instance if you choose Jimmy, you will get a lot of ammo, but less armor in the hit meter. Choosing Goddard will give you stronger armor, but less ammo. One annoying thing are the enemies. Every time Jimmy or Goddard get hit, they get sent back a little before that part where they got hit rather than continuing from where they left off. Also making some Jumps are hard, unless your at the very edge of the cliff. Other than these 2 things, the Gameplay is OK
Story
The story kind or reminds me of another game, which is Sonic Adventure 2. The story is about Jimmy inventing this portal to another dimension where kids don't need to obey their parents. After party games, junk food, and missing his parents, Jimmy decides to go home. When he returns home he found himself staring at himself, so Jimmy Negatron pushes Jimmy Neutron back into the the other dimension. Now it's up to Jimmy to make his world right again and stop Jimmy Negatron.
Audio/Video
Graphics are good. Anyone thinking, ''Just because it's a Nickelodeon Game, it's going to have horrible graphics'', well they’re wrong. The graphics are smoother than other GBA games in full 3-D. They're not too blocky or pixeled, they're great! Each object has more frames than usual so that each object and character actually rotate making a cool 3-D affect. Sound isn't too great. The music is annoying at times, but there are voice effects though, whenever Jimmy gets hit, he says ''Ouch!'' while Goddard whimpers like a dog would.
Play Time/Replayability
It takes about two months because of the difficult game play and password system to save. The replayability isn't high or low, it's in between. The replayability is moderate because of it's 3-D system and interesting style.
Final Recommendation
If you are a Jimmy Neutron fan like me, who has to know what happens to Jimmy next, then buy. Video Game fans might find it worth renting. This one game is really made for fans of Jimmy Neutron.
