Ecks vs. Sever
Review by Jonathon Rebel
"This Game Is ECKSellent!!!!!!"
While frantically rummaging through the crappy games at my local Costco, a box caught my eye. For one it was the only rated teen game in the whole damn store, and two it was a first person shooter. I took it home, put batteries in my GameBoy Advance, and flipped the power button. Once I got through the boring ass ads I was immediately immerged in a world of conspiracies and violence. Needless to say I played and played this game...most of the time on the pot. What? Like you don't....
Anyways, so now that I've beaten the game I feel obligated to tell the world of it's value.
Graphics- I have yet to see game on my GameBoy Advance with finer graphics. Maybe it's because this game is awesome or the fact that my other games are crappy. We may never know. But the graphics in this game are ground-breaking. From the look of the machine gun to the bang of the explosions, I was truly shocked to see such beauty on my little ol' GameBoy Advance.
Sound- The sound in this game has its good points and bad points. A good point of the sound is how the realistic the gun shots sound. A bad point is there is little sound in the game (Besides the sounds you cause). For instance, I shudder everytime I'm at the select mode screen because the music is so annoying. If I wanted to listened to crummy alien sounds with no beat I'd be a techno fan.
Controls- The controls on the game are very simple. You can shoot, strafe, duck, switch guns, and open/close doors. While I find this to be a pro whether then a con I can see how it's a personal preference. But my opinion of the controls is that they're acceptable.
Plot- As the kind of person that I am I tend to get into the plots of games/movies, and believe me, I got into this games plot. To be perfectly honest I have to say the plot in this game is uninspiring. They expect you to relate to some clinically depressed has-been??? The plot was unrewarding and I advise you to just skip it and play the game.
Replayability- After beating the game, I feel no need to play it any longer. It was entertaining for a time, but once the game's been beaten it's over. So I must personally rate this category low.
Rating- Graphics- 10
Sound- 6
Controls- 8
Plot- 5
Replayability- 1
Total- 9 out of 10
So in conclusion, this is a fun game. If you're a fan of FPS's feel free to try this one. Thanks for reading my review :)
