James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing

Review by RavenBlade1717

"EA has brought the James Bond franchise back into one great piece."

Bond, James Bond. That is the character everyone loves in the world of spies. What curses this character is the lack of a great game since Goldeneye 64. That time is now over, as Electronic Arts has delivered a game worth of purchase. Their new 3rd Person Perspective action game certainly was a gamble to the series, but as the title says, it was Everything or Nothing.

Graphics
This game is not horrible by any means, but it's certainly not a Splinter Cell beater. The graphics are adequate enough to get the job done. The models of characters are done very accurately, thanks to facial scans of Pierce Brosnan, Mya, Shannon Elizabeth, and others. The only thing that suffers in this game, (at least in the Gamecube version) is the compression of the video scenes. The video looks blocky and blurry, but is still bearable. EA should be doing better than that, considering clean video is entirely possible on Gamecube. Rogue Squadron is an example.

Gameplay & Controls
Now as a 3rd person shooter, instead of the usual 1st person, we couldn't help but cringe...considering the last 3rd person Bond game was an embarrassment. EA has pulled this off very well. The pure atmosphere of the James Bond universe is captured excellently. Bond moves, Bond girls, the cars, the stealth moves. Controlling Bond takes some time to get used to at first, but after a while, it is absolutely fine. No complains in controls, just a bit of a learning curve. There's different things to do in this game, which is what makes this game great to play and have fun with.
10/10

Sound
Nothing too special here, although the sounds of Sniper Rifles, handguns, shotguns, and rocket launchers sound good enough. The revving of a bike and car engine, explosions are done nicely. What I can't help to hear enough of, is Mya's song on the main title screen which is pretty catchy. The voice actors are professional actors, which really puts a plus on the production value of this game. It really makes this Bond game make you feel like you're in the universe of it all.
9/10

Multiplayer
This is probably the only part that isn't exactly great. This seemed rush, and put together way too quickly. No deathmatch mode really dumbs the score down. Not really worth playing, but something to do if you're bored with some siblings or friends.
7/10

Overall
8/10. This game is worth a purchase if you're a Bond fan and looking for something to get the bad taste out of your mouth since Agent Under Fire. This game however may only be a rent to those who aren't into James Bond, but like shooters. The game can be beaten in 10 hours (depending on skill), but there are 3 modes of difficulty, and some rewards to unlock, which makes this game last a lot longer to those Goldeneye freaks who loved playing on 00 Agent mode.
